This is yet another book turned film. I couldn't put this book down and I advise having the tissues ready when you watch the movie!  I read this book and watched the movie last year but I was quickly reminded of both when I chanced upon a recent episode of Secret Millionaire. http://tinyurl.com/3u5cqjj  A rich businessman visits Skid Row and leaves several large checks with agencies helping the homeless there.
